Oreo Pancakes with Cookies & Cream Glaze

15 Aug

I love Oreos!

Who doesn’t? If you don’t I think you’re a little weird. But that means more for me!

The husband also loves Oreos, maybe is a little obsessed with Oreos.

So when I found this recipe I knew he would love it!

It basically allows you to eat cookies for breakfast without getting judged or feeling guilty.

This is a perfect breakfast for an anniversary, special occasion or just because it’s Sunday!

I also made some bacon because the pancakes are so sweet it’s nice to have something salty and meaty!

Enjoy!!

Oreo Pancakes – What you need

Oreo Pancakes

Oreo Pancakes with Cookies & Cream Glaze

Recipie adapted from Must Come Hungry

What you need:

1 egg
1 c. flour
3/4 c. milk (I used buttermilk)
2 tbsp. shortening, melted (or vegetable oil)
1 tbsp. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. Oreos, crushed

1 tsp Vanilla (I added this)

Glaze:
3/4 c. confectioners’ sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1/4 c. Oreos, crushed

Directions:

In a bowl, beat the egg until fluffy. Beat in the remaining ingredients except for the crushed cookies until the batter is smooth. Stir in cookies; mix well. On a pre-heated griddle or pan, cook pancakes until the top gets bubbly, about two minutes; flip and cook the other side.

For the glaze, mix together the confectioners’ sugar and milk until creamy. (If possible, I would try to make the Oreos for this part extra crushed) Add cookies and mix. Pour over pancakes.

First off, these pancakes are delicious. All I’d need to be happy for the day is a cup full of that glaze and a straw. Secondly, why do they even make single stuf Oreos anymore. Double Stuf or nothing for me. If you’re going to do something do it right! Finialy, who do I have to talk to at Nabisco to get them to put out an Oreo flavor multi-pack? Original Double Stuf, peeanut butter, mint, and golden all in one perfect package of awesome. Thats the dream. Ok I’m done. Make the pancakes they’re soooo good.

HAHA! That glaze is so good! It would be good for a cake or just about anything! And yes the multipack of Oreos is such a good idea.
